The company, rich in tradition, has been led since the end of 2007 by Marian Meier-Andrae (34, commercial head) and his cousin Thomas Meier (42, technical head). At the same time, Uwe Meier-Andrae became member of the firm’s supervisory board. His father Karl Meier founded KAMEI in 1952 in Wolfsburg.
Both managing directors have grown into the family business from a very early age. Thanks to their studies and additional professional experiences outside of KAMEI they have the strategic vision to successfully guide the traditional firm as the third generation into the future.
After two years under new direction the quality manufacturer can now look back on a stable aftermarket business with roof boxes and other auto accessories. Also as OEM-supplier of renowned automobile manufacturers, the new management duo can register a successful development.“Besides the extension of our aftermarket business at home and internationally, we will in particular pay attention to our new and existing OEM–customers” summarizes Marian Meier–Andrae his plans for the company`s future. The foundation with Mercedes–Benz has been laid already 4 years ago: KAMEI produce an exclusive roof box line in the genuine design of the brand, distributed by Mercedes– Benz dealers world-wide.
With Volkswagen Zubehör GmbH another key account for an exclusive line of manufacturer-branded roof boxes was won over: three different types of Volkswagen roof boxes “Made by KAMEI” had their premiere on the Automechanika exhibition in 2008.
