Questions about KAMEI roof boxes

What requirements do I need to be able to mount a roof box?

In order to mount a roof box, a base carrier/roof rack is always required, on which the roof box can be attached.

 

Which roof rack is suitable for which vehicle must always be determined from the manufacturer's specifications for the roof rack.

 

Depending on the type of roof rack, the roof boxes can be mounted accordingly, depending on their mounting system.

What is the maximum size allowed for a roof box?

The maximum usable roof box size depends on the roof load specified by the vehicle manufacturer. This limit must not be exceeded.

 

Furthermore, the roof length of the respective vehicle plays a role. For example, if the roof box is too long, the tailgate may collide with the roof box when opened.

How do I clean / maintain my KAMEI roof box?

Locks, central locking mechanisms and hinges should be cleaned regularly or when dirty/stiff with soapy water (see also assembly/operating instructions).

 

To protect the roof box itself from dirt during storage, roof box covers (see accessories section) can be used.

Where can I obtain KAMEI products, accessories and/or spare parts?

Technical modifications are not permitted and will result in the loss of the product warranty.
