Limited manufacturer's warranty from KAMEI GmbH for roof boxes
KAMEI GmbH, Heinrichswinkel 2, 38448 Wolfsburg (hereinafter referred to as “ KAMEI ”), grants purchasers of KAMEI roof boxes a voluntary limited manufacturer's warranty in addition to the statutory warranty rights, in accordance with these warranty conditions.
This manufacturer's warranty represents a voluntary additional service from KAMEI . The buyer's statutory rights in the event of defects, in particular the statutory warranty rights against the seller, remain unaffected and are not limited by this guarantee. The exercise of these legal rights is free of charge for the buyer.
Warranty period
The limited manufacturer's warranty is:
- six years if the roof box is used exclusively for private purposes;
- one year for commercial or professional use of the roof box.
The period for calculating the warranty period begins on the invoice date of the initial purchase of the product. Warranty services rendered do not extend the warranty period, nor do they initiate a new warranty.
Scope of the limited manufacturer's warranty
The limited manufacturer's warranty covers material and manufacturing defects in the load-bearing and permanently installed components of the KAMEI roof box, unless these are expressly excluded from the scope of the warranty.
A prerequisite for warranty service is that the defect is due to a faulty material quality or faulty manufacturing and impairs the intended use of the affected component.
Components not covered by the warranty
Components that are subject to regular use, wear and tear or regular replacement due to their intended function are expressly excluded from the scope of the warranty.
This applies in particular to:
- Gas springs, lid lifters;
- Roof box locks and roof box keys;
- Hinges;
- Luggage racks;
- Seals of any kind;
- Accessories for the interior of the roof box.
This voluntary manufacturer's warranty does not guarantee a specific functional or usage period for these components.
Further exclusions
Damage not caused by defects in materials or workmanship is not covered by the limited manufacturer's warranty.
This applies in particular to damages resulting from:
- normal wear and tear and age-related changes;
- improper assembly, operation, care or storage;
- Failure to observe safety or operating instructions;
- independent repair attempts or modifications to the product;
- accidents or other external influences;
- force majeure, in particular storms, hail or floods.
Also not included are purely visual changes that do not impair the intended function, in particular scratches, discoloration or similar signs of wear.
Warranty service
If a material or manufacturing defect covered by this limited manufacturer's warranty exists, KAMEI will decide, at its own discretion, on the type of warranty service to be provided.
KAMEI can in particular:
- repair the affected component;
- replace the affected component;
- make a replacement delivery in individual cases.
Replaced components or products become the property of KAMEI .
No further claims can be made under this voluntary manufacturer's warranty. The warranty specifically excludes claims for damages or compensation for direct or indirect consequential costs.
The following are specifically not covered:
- Towing costs;
- Parking fees;
- Transport or freight costs;
- Rental car costs;
- Disposal costs;
- Loss of use;
- Damage to other items or components not covered by the warranty.
Assertion of warranty claims
Warranty claims can be made through an authorized KAMEI distributor or directly to KAMEI .

To examine a warranty claim, KAMEI may require the submission of suitable proof of purchase, which must show in particular the date of purchase and the product name.
A prerequisite for processing a warranty claim is that KAMEI is given the opportunity to examine the alleged defect. This may require, in particular, an inspection or submission of the affected roof box.
When sending items in, suitable packaging must be used to ensure that no transport damage occurs.
Spatial scope
The limited manufacturer's warranty applies in the European Union (EU), Switzerland, Norway (BK) and the United Kingdom (UK).
Final Provisions
This limited manufacturer's warranty does not affect statutory provisions or existing statutory warranty rights.
Should individual provisions of these warranty conditions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
German law applies, unless mandatory legal provisions stipulate otherwise.
